Knowledge engineering to enhance the usage of bioresources

Our main research area is artificial intelligence and knowledge engineering.

The axis is composed of computer scientists. Our activity consists in developing innovative knowledge and data treatment methods and tools. The aim is to provide decision-support systems for biomass transformation chains.

On one hand, these tools must be able to collect, represent and handle different types of data and knowledge, including imperfect (e.g., unreliable, uncertain) data, qualitative expert knowledge, physical models with parameter uncertainty.

On the other hand, decision-support systems must consider multi-criteria and multi-stakeholders’ preferences, together with qualitative and quantitative pros and cons.
